Biography of Raymond Pisney, President, The Aurora Group International, Ltd.
The Aurora Group International, Ltd. is a non-profit development company
that provides strategic development and fundraising technical assistance to
national and international nonprofits. The company was founded several years
ago by Ray Pisney, whose expertise is in fundraising and strategic
development for nonprofit, government and corporate management.
During his career,
Ray has served as a fundraising and management
consultant to more than 300 nonprofit organizations, institutions and
corporations throughout the United States and Europe assessing funding
potentials, mapping organizational structures, formulating strategic plans,
identifying and training leadership. He has authored winning proposals for
foundation, government and corporate funding in the tens of millions of
dollars.
Ray has previously served as a Director with Brakeley, the largest
worldwide nonprofit consulting company. He also served as Senior Vice
President/Consulting for Executive Transitions International, Inc. where he
directed and implemented marketing campaigns for clients with specialties in
academia, associations, entrepreneurship, culture/arts, environmentalism, CEO's,
high-technology, medical/health care, not-for-profit and government.
Ray has also been the principal administrator of several statewide
conservation and cultural arts programs in the North Carolina Department of
Cultural Resources with a budget of $16 million and a staff of 370
professionals. He is a gifted writer and editor, having authored one
major book and edited seven other important publications. He is also the
author of numerous e-books on nonprofit training, strategic development,
fundraising and history. In addition to this, he previously served as
Special Assistant to the Chairman of Cannon Mills and has been the Executive
Director of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation.
Ray earned his B.A. from Loras College and his M.A. from the
University of Delaware. He also holds a Certificate in Administration from
Colonial Williamsburg, and a Diploma in Personnel Management from the
Department of Education, Commonwealth of Virginia.
